We have an Outreach Committee that meets once a year to prayerfully discern which organizations to support financially through our annual budget. If you would like your group to be considered please fill out the application using the button below.

We also have an Outreach In Action Committee that plans and implements ongoing projects for all ages throughout the year. If you know of a need, please contact Outreach Coordinator Nick Dubose, and we will see if we can help.

Lazarus Ministry

Each week Christ Church opens its doors to those in need of financial assistance with utility bills. Listening, prayer and action combine in this important ministry. This ministry is funded by member donations and the annual Lazarus Toy Sale. Contact John Hicks to volunteer!

Community Soup Bowl

The Community Soup Bowl is located in the heart of our city and provides a warm inviting atmosphere seven days a week to welcome and feed the hungry. Just a couple of hours of your time each month can ensure those in need have access to a hot meal and encouragement.

Reading Allies

Reading Allies begins the week of September 9 and will run through the week of November 18. Sign up at the link to be a volunteer this semester! All returning volunteers MUST sign up again each semester. Select ‘Tuscaloosa’ as your region on the sign-up form to show all available schools and times and you will receive a confirmation of your school and time.

A respite program for people in the early stages of memory disorders that meets 9:30-11:30 AM on Mondays at Easter Seals, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Christ Church and Fridays at The Church at Tuscaloosa. Participants enjoy music, art, games and enrichment. A support group for caretakers meets every other Tuesday at 10am. Call Lori at 561-797-5867 for more information.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at Christ Church Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 PM and Wednesdays at 7 AM.

A women's only group meets Thursdays at Noon.

Alanon meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 PM.

REACH Holiday Help

Holidays can be financially difficult for many REACH students. The goal of the UA REACH Pantry is to ensure students have adequate access to food and hygiene products. You can support these students by purchasing items on the REACH Amazon Wishlist. Once you place an item in the cart and are ready to check out, select “Alabama REACH’s Gift Registry Address” from the “Other Addresses.” For privacy, the address will not be displayed, but items will be delivered directly to the Alabama REACH office.
